Weird ? - Is Sake available on St. John?

Post by alw1977 »

The couples are having a bit of a cooking competition during our October trip. Part of the dinner requirement is to create a cocktail. We're doing a Japanese theme (Katsu for those who are interested - don't worry, we plan on bringing our own panko crumbs and K sauce). Anyway, we'd like to make a cocktail with Sake. Is it available on the island or are we best to bring some if that's what we choose to do?

I figure with all of the budding gourmands on this site, someone may know. Thanks!

I think I saw some in the Starfish Gourmet market in July, but check with them ahead of time to make sure.

Another option might be to check at AH Riise on STT before taking the ferry over. Just a thought...

There is a sushi place in Havensight right by where the first cruise ship would pull in. You might try calling there and see if they could sell you a bottle? Not sure what the package license is like in the USVI compared to the States though.
