Isn't development wonderful?
It is hardly the 1st muddied waters scenario in St J - sadly it isn't the last either.
Developers will continue to build what people will buy, realtors will sell and visitors will rent until the proverbial 'tipping point' when no people want to buy, realtors can't sell and no one wants to visit such an overdeveloped destination.

If I ever won the lottery...which is virtually impossible since I never buy tickets...I think one of the things I would do with my money is buy a large clump of land on STJ and donate it to the park with some kind of stipulation that they never sell it off to be built on.
If I bought something for myself, it would be something that's already there.

Very sad, but perhaps inevitable because everyone wants their own little piece of paradise, if just for a short time.
Many people looking for a place to stay like to stay somewhere new. I've never seen a review that says "I loved this villa, it's so humble and old!" but I've seen plenty that rave about a brand new villa. I don't see how we can have the awesome new villas without construction. Even if an old villa is updated to come up to higher standards, adding a pool or new deck is going to cause some construction noise, run off, etc.

2nd picture in the post...continue down the road off to the left of the picture..."No Snowmobiling" sign right there.
