BVI's for 8

Post by traveler22 »

Here's the problem.
Most of the smaller boats like "Lion in Da Sun" and "Palm tree charter" can only take a max of 6 people and I have 8 in my Feb. party. We also don't want to go on something like New Horizons with a big group or a schedule. Can anyone recommend a boat that can take eight on a private trip and is still reasonable?
Thanks

Hey Traveler - you should consider "Born to Rhumb" that takes up to 12. Our group of 7 had a wonderful trip with Captain Kevin. We did the Baths, Sandy Cay, the Caves, and Jost; you can make your own itinerary. I think he's comparably priced with most of the charters. It's a motorized boat, not sure what you're looking for there, but I would highly recommend. I know others on the forum have been pleased with him as well. Our group of 7 had the boat to ourselves. It was great. His website is

Captain Kevin summers in Maine but is usually back on island December - June. I second the recommendation. We are planning our 4th trip on Born to Rhumb in April!! Just a fabulous day!!

I second Born to Rhumb. They have a good reputation and a clean boat.

We used ocean runner with our group of 8 a few years ago (plus a captain). I think some of their boats take up to 10.

Try getting a hold of Stu. We (eight adults) used him last spring to go to Jost and he's great! I'm sure someone on this forum has his phone number.

We took the family out with Nightwind out of Sapphire on St. Thomas. They do private charters which includes two snorkel stops, breakfast, lunch, and open bar. It was a great day. I would definitley recommend them.

3rd Bron to Rhumb. Big (and nice) boat and professional crew.
