Stalking St. John people

Post by NCSue »

Does anybody else have this happen? You see someone wearing a Woody's shirt or driving a car with a USVI bumper sticker and you want to IMMEDIATELY go up and talk to them all about St. John??? Happens to me ALL the time - my husband claims I'm stalking these people! So far I have refrained - but I'm afraid I'm going to cave one of these times!!!!

OMG That's so funny because, I just saw someone this weekend with a Beach Bar T-shirt on. And I said to myself "Oh I'll be there next weekend".

I have a pic of the Trunk Bay overlook as my background for the laptop. I was in Court one day and another lawyer sitting next to me leaned over and said, "i just got back from my time share at the Westin". We are everywhere :-)

I am so guilty of this!

I saw a woman at the gym with a Morgan's Mango shirt on and went to talk with her. I saw a guy at a shoe store with a St. John USVI shirt and made a comment to him and then I saw a guy at the grocery store with a Woody's T-shirt on and spoke to him a bit. This is all within the past 3 months.

I am a St. John stalker...... :(
Do you think I have a problem?

Oh that is funny....I too am guilty of this. Saw a guy a few weeks ago at the shoe store with a St John tee shirt on and oh yes I stalked him. Has happened many times before too. I have also been stalked and approached when wearing my St John apparel is well. Oh it is too funny!

I see you are from Apex! My daughter moved to Raleigh about 10 months ago and we love love love it there. We are seriously considering a move next summer to that area and Apex is on our short list. Do you like it there? Please pm me with any details about Raleigh, Apex and/or life in NC in general. We live in Western NY and have lived here all of our lives but it is getting to be time to make a move to warmer climes!! We just can't stand snow and cold anymore!! plus if we moved to NC we are closer to the islands!!!!

Since I have lived in the VI for many years much of my summer traveling wardrobe has some USVI connection visible. Many times people have stopped me and commented and I have met some very interesting folks along the way. You guys are some pretty nice stalkers  and often make me feel like a VI Ambassador when I am off island.
For years the hook bracelet was a dead giveaway and conversation starter for VI travelers.

Note to self: Never wear JJ's shirt or Low Key hat or drive car with Petroglyph sticker over in Apex.

I have done this. I once totally forced this guy to have a conversation about STJ against his will, but he had just moved back and was wearing a Woody's t-shirt, so it was his fault.

The other day I was at the mall and I saw a Cruzan Rum t-shirt, and I was about to approach the person only to realize it was my former co-worker Zach, who grew up in St. Croix.

I figure if someone's cared/liked a place enough to buy a tshirt then they wouldn't mind talking about it. So if it's a place I've been to and enjoyed and see someone wearing a tshirt I recognize I always strike up a conversation. It's not stalking-really :D

Lavender-Canandaigua's so pretty-I understand the taxes have gone crazy there though :(

I don't remember running into anyone while out and about town, but I have at work! I have St. John pictures as my screensaver, which led to conversations with coworkers, one of whom was born and raised in St. Thomas (I had no idea!), and another who used to live in the house across the street from the resort we used to always stay at in Bermuda.

I once got cut off on the highway by someone in a big suv with a STJ sticker on the back. I just figured they were in need of another trip to the island to remember how to relax!

I am sure that if I saw someone with a STJ shirt, hat , bumper sticker, etc. I would say something!
(I am shy but not when it comes to STJ, huh SOTB'ers?)

We were driving down the PA Turnpike the other week behind a STJ license plate bracket and vanity plate. Turns out it was Bug and we had her cell #. So we called her! Too funny because we live 90+ miles away from each other!
If you don't take risks, you'll have a wasted soul.
