Best way to get to Virgin Grand Estates?

Post by tmr10001 »

Hi!
What is the best way of getting to Virgin Grand Estates? Do we have to drive all the way out to Rendezvous bay and then up Gift Hill?

I think it's closer to South Shore Rd. then Centerline, but not by much. I think those are your only 2 options. South Shore or Centerline to GH Rd.

The other option is to walk through the Westin timeshare properties and through the gate to Virgin Grand Estates. You can't drive that way, though. This is an option for the lower villas, like South Palm.

Rick -do you know the names of some of the lower villas in Virgin Grand Estates. It perked my ears up[ when you said that you can walk to the Westin from some of the lower villas!!! the kids would LOVE that!

Thanks everyone for your responses! We are booked for South Palm next year. Nice to know we can walk down to the Westin. I have driven up Gift Hill Road a couple of times from Le Virage on my way to Coral Bay and I didn't realize that Virgin Grand Estates only had one entrance at the top! Might have changed my mind had I realized that!

It really is an easy drive once you do it a few times. We have stayed in 3 different houses in VGE. You can get to Pine Peace Market in a matter of 5 minutes or maybe even less. I know, because each time we were cooking and forgot something, guess who went to the store?!

You will love the house and the neighborhood! No worries!

I could come along and be your driver!

One little trick (especialy at night) is to drive to the gate - turn your car around so it's ready to go up the hill and walk to the Westin to get the taxi. Our house is low in VGE and it makes for an easy walk but at night after many drinks......!!! Every once in a while the gate is open and hopefully the Homeowners assoc. can reach some sort of agreement to use the direct way but the alternatives are not bad at all and once you have driven it- it's just minutes further.

I never worry about the drive, especially at night. Just keep an eye out for cement trucks or other crazies coming down the hill.

You can certainly walk even from the upper VGE villas. Its just that the walk back up is UP.
