Quasi live trip report

Post by Sleehog »

OK I am perturbed that I was up to present time when the computer went back to people.com! I guess I will try to do this again even though I lost pulitzer prize winning prose.

Travel day was uneventful. Our flight from Raleigh to Miami to STT went off without flaw. The Miami airport sucks but we found enough booz to make our 3 hour layover ok.

We went to the Mafolie for dinner with 8:15 reservations. We made it to the bar at 7:30 to see the spectactular views before sunset. The views are INCREDIBLE here with high up views of the harbor below...

I keep getting booted so I will post and continue later...

The food was great, bartender inexperienced and overwhelmed and the waitress a space cadet. The food, views and people watching made up for any problems.

We went to Magens Bay this morning to find an overcast sky. We hung out at the beach bar awaiting the sun. The caribs were great and the bartender was great. The ladies in our group decided they were ready for a nap (wont be the last of the trip I am sure). Dave and I went into the water beer in hand. We made a few trips back to the bar for refills. We switched to painkillers... then rum punch (too much pineapple). We played with the local kids... I DDT'd and suplexed them which they loved.

I lost my sunglasses - did not find them...

I am convinced the bartender slipped us roofy's in an attempt to hook up with our fine (not) azzes.

I dont remember CHIT after this. Sleehog can drink but that bartender f'd me up. I have no clue how we made it to the cab... to the hotel... into the room... I was TOAST! I honestly lost 3 hours of my lfe! I apologize to all parties involved but thank goodness we survived! Dave will be checking the online statement to make sure we didnt give any $1000 tips :)

I had a nice litle 3 hour nap and am back to "normal." Our other 2 friends made it to STT after a slight mechanical delay in MIA. We will head over to STJ on a yet to be determined ferry in the morning.

Hopefully shenanigans will continue - but with a memory :)

We miss our baby girl (2.25 years old) but are surviving :) Memaw has already started spoiling the crap out of her (envision grape popcicles for breakfest). My wife made a pledge to try to keep to 4 calls per day or less.

I guess the next installment will be at some point in STJ :) We cant wait to get there and are glad we had a couple of days on STT to prime the pump :)

If you ever read this Sue - i apparently need to apologize for being such a drunker fool this afternoon :)

Wow, "prime the pump" seems to be a bit of an understatement! Have fun, but do try to keep it memorable! Glad you're having fun! :D
