Pia, If you Google "Calabash Views", you get a bunch of different pages of info. I've stayed near there a couple of times. You go just past Shipwreck, turn right on Calabash Boom Rd, though I don't know that it's marked. It's an upstairs, 1 bedroom apartment, with an open air kitchen. Andy Gordon built the place, but passed away last May. No phone, TV or washer/ dryer, though it does have high speed Internet and a hot tub. You most definitely need 4WD to get up there. A neat, romantic spot, but I think the price, off season, is pretty steep, imho.
When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.

Pia-
I apparently don't know how to post a link. But its calabashviews.com. Everything JT said seems in-line. The house is called the Dinosaur House, with Views being the top floor rental. It looks interesting.... and I thought someone might have stayed there...
