Anyone Watching the Cubs Game Today?

Post by chicagoans »

Watch for a birthday message on the scoreboard for DH! Middle of the 5th inning there should be a Happy Birthday message for "Gunner" (his nickname, from basketball) for his 50th! Then the kids and I will be waving our posters like goofballs in the bleachers.

Believe me, I tried for over a year to get us somewhere (ahem, like STJ!) for a birthday trip. But seasonal business = very little summer travel, so here we come Wrigley field!

Hey, B-Day greetings!
Too bad for the Cubbies regarding Soriano's wrist. Sweet Lou has got 'em playing pretty good ball. They didn't need to lose Alphonso for 4-6 weeks.

Have fun at the game, and Happy Birthday to your hubby!

I'm going to the Red Sox tonight. We will be up on the Green Monster. Hooray for baseball! :D

Liamsaunt,
Know that you enjoyed yourself tonight. Anyone of the homers come your way? Do they play the song Tessie at some of the games?

It would be great to see the Cubbies go all the way, would make nice symmetry between 1908 and 2008.

Keep the Mets fans away from sharp objects. Man o man combine what happened last year with this week, that label of chokers is getting bigger and bigger.

I sure did! :D

Nope, none of the balls came our way--two went right up into the place we sat last time we had monster seats though. I've been to hundreds of games and have not one ball to show for it!

They play Tessie after the game is over.

LiamsAunt - glad you had a great time! No souvenir balls for us either, although a woman at the end of our row got hit on the shoulder with one during batting practice. Ouch! Big ice bag for the rest of the game. But a good sport when the Cubs needed another run and her husband started chanting "Hit my wife!"

Hot sun, cold beer... ahhh. Gotta love a ball game!

Fun at the game:
