Camera security

Post by jmq »

Just read a trip report on another forum and their camera bag with camera and memory cards were stolen out of their checked baggage that went thru San Juan on the way home (not unheard of in that airport).
Lost all their trip pics. The camera can be replaced, but those memory saving photos cannnot.
With all the new rules, still important to remember to ALWAYS CARRY ON your film/memory cards and cameras/electronics etc.

Why in the world would they check their camera bag w/camera in check bags? Even the airlines don't suggest it. I always carry my camera in my carry on & never had a problem going through security.Sorry that they had to lose all their pictures. Better to carry on things you don't want stolen unless TSA say you can't carry on such as liquids over 3oz. Oh well live & learn.
