Mom's

Post by mbw1024 »

ok I'm cracking up over Mom's and how they use their cell phones and what not! So in honor of Mothers Day here's a picture of my Mom! As you all are probably sick of hearing we vacation on a lake in Maine every year. My Mom's been going there since she was 1 year old - she's 84 now! She's a character for sure!

Here she is enjoying her Rum Punch at Barnacle Billy's in Ogunquit

And here a typical day on the lake

Happy Mother's Day to all and to all the Mother's that have left us. I'm having a brunch on Sunday - have a great weekend all!

Thanks for those. They were so sweet. My mother-in-law is 91. We took her to a Phillies game on her 90th birthday. A guy next to her said, "I hope a bat comes over here for you". And her response was, "I don't want a bat or any goddamn balls either"... We all cracked up!!!

Mary Beth - nice pix of Mom.

Ahh, Barnacle Billys!

After trying rum punches all over the VIs with very mixed results (most too sweet for our tastes), last time up in Ogunquit, saw it at Barnacle Billys and said "what the heck - lets try one".

Well knock me over with a feather - hands down one of the best we've ever had. Go figure. Maybe kinda touristy, but man, they know what they're doing with the food too.

Thought it was our little family secret ;)
Here's a tip for ya, ride the trolley to go enjoy your rum punches :)
We make a few treks there during the summer!

I'll play along....

This is my Nana (and nephew Jared). My Nana raised me since I was just a wee baby. She is my idol and I love her. I hope one day my kids will love and respect me half as much as I do her.

I do have one question....her favorite saying is "your ass sucks carpet tacks". She uses it in the context of "your full of crap". To this day I don't get it. Has anyone else ever heard that saying before?? We all just laugh like heck when she says it

Isn't she just the cutest!!! XOXO Bug :D

This is such a wonderful tribute to all our Mom's, Gram's, etc :D
Marybeth, your Mom looks so sweet. I love the shot of her all set up on the dock! Is that Sebago Lake by chance?? One of my fave towns in Maine is Naples.

Waterguy, I too feel that I should take more photos of my Mom and family in general. I'll be sure to post some shots after our upccoming visit to paradise.

Thanks everybody and Happy Mom's Day to all the ladies!!

Enjoy,
Kathy

MaryBeth-

Is your Mom on Mousam all summer?

I'll have to keep an eye out for her sittin' on the dock when I'm out and about trying to catch fish (and if I'm in a canoe, trying not to flip over!.)

My parents are on the Acton side. We fish in the cove directly across the lake, in front of the nun's place (is it still a nun's place?) or right off the dock.

Are you going to Mousam over the summer?

Hey Lysa! No, she's not there all summer. She wishes! She's in Wells a lot with my sister though. We are now only there one week a year. This year the week of 7/12.

Every time we pass that house heading for ice cream, my Mom says "there's where the nuns used to live". It's like clockwork! I really never believed her until just now ;)
