Jost
Hi,
We are planning a surprise day over to Jost for the Newbies & Deb & Woody as 3 of the four have a B-Day within a few weeks of our trip.
So the Questions is, which is best to eat lunch at Soggy Dollar or Foxy's???
Thanks

I've only had food at Foxy's - but it was good. The flip-side, I've only had drinks (and a lot of them) at the Soggy Dollar. And they were good - from what I remember. I have to admit, the Conch Fritter at the Soggy Dollar looked great.

Knowing this crew, you'll be camped out at the Soggy Dollar all day. There's no real beach at Foxy's. Soggy Dollar has good roti and you can eat with sand between your toes. You can stuff some of those tasty Bud Lights in Woody's backpack cooler to keep the steam up on the way over.

Thanks FlaGeorge.
I think a few of the gang would love the Conch Fritters.
Hey Rick, your making me look bad here
Our Crew
If there is no beach at Foxy's then we would probably prefer to spend most of the time at The Soggy Dollar, since I LOVE the beach
& play it by ear as far as lunch, but gotta make it Foxy's, maybe rolling us there
but what a way to get there.
Rick are you suggesting that we take a few cold ones in the backpack for the ferry ride over??? Didn't think that would be allowed, we are planning on taking the local ferry?
What is Roti???
Sorry dumb Canuck here.

pjayer will tell you that if it's food you are most interested in go to Foxy's. She was not impressed with the food at Soggy Dollar last week. But, she absolutely loved the atmosphere (read: Painkillers) at Soggy Dollar so that more than made up food. I, on the other hand thought the burger was great, or maybe it was just the sand between my toes and the beautiful water and the great company (Capt. John Brandi and my family) or maybe it was just being in the Caribbean rather than at work.

Something to remember is that you'll have taxi drivers meeting you at the ferry. You can easily walk to Foxy's, but you may not see another taxi driver that day. Hookup with a taxi driver and tell him your plans and he'll schedule pickups/dropoffs for the day.
Foxy's will be pretty quiet during the day. But, if that's what you want.... what you want is roti.
"Ro Tee Mon!" roti is a big wrap with curried meat, potatoes and veggies. It's killer good. I agree that the food is better at Foxy's. But, beach?
Also, I've been hearing that Sedi has been serving a good lunch at One Love. TTOL BVI forum has some chatter on this.

I didn't realize that Foxy's and Soggy Dollar were so close. At least, they appeared to be from the view from the boat. Is it possible to have lunch at Foxy's then hang out at Soggy Dollar the rest of the day if you go by taxi? If it is, then that would be my pick.
The food wasn't bad at Soggy Dollar. I just remember how good the hummus, salsa, and grilled fish sandwich were at Foxy's last year. I had the grilled fish last week at Soggy Dollar, and it just didn't measure up. Next time I'll take RickG's advice and have the roti, which I'd never heard of either.

Ya, but these are dangerous foreigners from the land of the midnight sun. We should just chip them at the border, but the mukluks give them away.
If you're going all out and arrange the taxi, Taboo + the bubbly pool along with White Bay would be fun.
Foxy's and White Bay look close together. But, there's the mountain you have to climb if you walk. Christine and I once closed down Foxy's and stood looking for a taxi. Taxi? There were no lights on in town! We walked, accompanied by a whine that was not a mosquito!!! It was a good 30 minutes.
Taxis should be no problem during the day.
