Airline travel advice...........

Post by cypressgirl »

I heard this from a guy named Stuart Varney, on Fox news (you probably have never heard of him), but he gave his 3 tips for airline travel and I thought they were worth passing along:

1. Take the first flight of the day.
2. Travel with carry on only.
3. Try to book a non stop flight.

Of course that can't always be done, but I thought it was good advice. I always try to take the earliest flight I can get (only going, not returning) and only take carry on, unfortunalety, there is no direct flight to STT from Houston. How silly is that?

Here Pete and I are in DETROIT. Over night. Paid for by Northwest. Final destination: Richmond VA for Pete's Mom's 80th (surprise) birthday party.

For several reasons, leaving on the "first flight" of the day was not going to happen and neither was carry-on only. But, damn. Here we are, in Detroit. With no luggage and just the little bag bag they give you to get through the night (this t-shirt is kind of comfy, actually).

If we were headed to the USVI and this happened, we'd be spittin' mad. But, this little diversion is okay.

Time to snuggle up with my honey who is wearing a matching "skyteam" t-shirt. Seriously, when they say grab the little bag with all you'll need for the night, take one or two. Not only do you get a cool T-shirt, but you get a comb/brush, toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrush, and "detergent." What am I going to do with detergent? Ohhhhh, and the food vouchers are good for liquor and food. We just had some yummy fried food at the local hang out (The Days Inn).

Missing St. John. As always.
