Here is the link to something I'm sure we have all watched many many times. I get excited just watching it!

Actually, I thought that was a pretty nice landing. People who landed many years ago will remember how close the mountain was to the landing strip(or so it looked). This was before the airport was expanded. Back then it looked like you were going to go right into the mountain. Anyone remember the grass shack bar that Sparkys had?
If I remember right there was a major accident in a landing.

That looked smooth to me too. The view from the other side of the plane can be a bit nerve wracking. You see water then all of a sudden you are on the runway!

That was a very smooth landing on a sunny day!

A few years ago we were trying to land on an AA 747 and flew into a huge black cloud on the runway and had to pull out at the last second, go around and try again! 2nd attempt and the same cloud didn't budge! Full throttle pull out to go around again! I thought we were going to hit the mountain! 3rd time, flying thru the rain & hit the runway hard. I never prayed so hard in my whole life!! But we made it, thank you Lord!
My son had a toy AA airplane and when we walked past the pilot (who looked a little pale) my son was moving his plane around & around, zooming and then he said CRASHHHHHHH!!! The tarmack never looked so good!!
Get me to the rum cart quick!!
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

I actually worked at that Sparkys airport bar in the 80s!! I really did prefer the old hangar building, but you are right, the landing was much scarier!!

That was great! This last trip we had my 7 year old nephew with us - he spent the whole landing saying that we were going to land in the water.
