Avatar photo apparent age?

Post by RickG »

We were hanging out with iowaguy last week. He looks about 15 years younger than his avatar. I've had multiple people tell me I need to change mine because it makes me look old. MrB? Well, geezer at heart, but still a young man.

Why do these photos make us look older?

OMG! I'm old enough! Maybe I should consider changing my avatar again!

Rick, you do look younger in person. So does Iowa guy. He's a lot smaller than I thought he'd be. Not that he's small. I was just expecting a BIG guy.

Maybe for April Fools a few of us should swap pictures and post all day with each other's photos.

choose carefully

CG- I think your new pic makes you look young!

Rick- Dangerous subject...in a fun way...easy to slip up and say..."you are old!"...:-)

Once you get into 40's and later I think you gotta choose pics carefully if ya wanna look your best...cause the facts is the facts...

Case in point, below are two pics from a trip I took last summer, two pics, one I think I look in late 30's maybe and one I look like Ronald Reagan in my fifties!...the truth is somewhere in between.

I haven't seen any of you, so I cannot tell, if you look younger or older in real.

Sherban, it was funny to see your two pictures. You are right. I wouldn't have guessed that the pics were from the same trip. A prove of that pics not always tell the truth. Some of the pics, which perhaps tell the truth about me, I would never post.

That's why I changed my avatar from my picture to an angelfish and now Trunk Bay. :D

Rick...I must agree that you do look younger in person. Not earthshaking younger...but certainly younger. I just hate to see you change your avatar...being a creature of habit and all. If...say...you need a picture that you appear younger in...I happen to have one! hehehe

Let me know and I'll bump your pic to the front of the photoediting line... :D You'll get all the pix as soon as I finish up.

Great to meet you...Sweet Christine (Caroline... ) and the girls. You have a super family! Please say hello for me!

JC, it was great meeting you! I'll tell the girls you said hi. More pictures of me? I think less is more here.

d00d, that picture is so wrong - you are totally outing me! I'm over my investment banker phase and deep back into technofetishist phase. No suits!

And... kill the picture, please!

And on the bright side, older can mean closer to retirement. However, Rick, I don't think your avatar makes you look older and I don't think Iowaguys does either. I guess I just think of the avatars as being slightly distorted anyway. Besides since I've met you both, I can't really look at either of your avatars and think of either of you as being old. (I'm sure glad that I didn't miss that pic of you in the suit though  ). Ali~

I can't wait for Jaz fest to meet some of you! I agree these avtars are very misleading! Then again my hair is never the same color or cut for very long and i don't have time to be updating my avatar every time it changes so you get what is there already!

This month I am a blonde! :D
