Update on ferry situation?

Post by DEB2171 »

Hello ... can anyone give me an update on the ferry situation? Last June/July they were very sporadic. We were able to take the downtown ferry to St. John but had to go to Red Hook for the return. I haven't seen an update in News of St. John in a few months. We're returning in late June (3 months and counting).

Thank you,
Deb

p.s. if anyone has rented Jazz Villa from Caribbean Villas, I'd be interested in your comments. We're trying it this year because the Sirenusa construction noise really impacted our last few years in that area.

As of today, they are all running their normal schedule, but every year, for "off season" they run a modified schedule and begin to cut ferries out - we wont know until closer to the "off season" what the new schedule will be.

Sorry I can't help more

RickG has stayed at Jazz Villa and speaks highly of it. I bet he'd be able to answer any questions.
He's good like that.
Hope this helps.

Hey 2cat, how are the kittens?

Jazz Villa is great with one of my favorite floor plans. The top floor is pool, great room, big kitchen and 2 bedrooms. There is another bedroom reachable by internal stairs that is huge. Great sunsets. I would rent it again in a heart beat.

If I remember correctly, there were some other ferry issues last year that were not related to "off-season". Hopefully this will not be repeated this year.

Hey Rick,

I was glad to see it looked like you guys had a great trip. Sad you have to be back though.
The kittens/cats are all good and the "kitten in progress"/baby seems to be coming along just fine.
We're a little over 17 weeks now and due September 1st. Labor Day, wouldn't you know.
Greg just got himself reassigned to work back home in Richmond starting week after next so I had to hold off booking a late April/May STJ trip until he gets settled in that.
We just need to do it before I get too far along. I can see it now, reports of an albino manatee spotted swimming very slowly off various beaches around st John.
It would be a shame to spend all that money on airfare just to get captured and relocated to Florida for endangered species protection.
Maybe I just need a t-shirt or swimsuit that says "Not a Manatee".
