Okay here my problem
Okay here my problem
11 years ago went to STT for a week with a 9 month old baby and 4 and 7 year old. Stayed at Sapphire beach. We did a day trip over to STJ and a taxi tour drove by truck bay never went in the water. Had lunch at Lime tree Inn. (owner of place we are renting) It's taken us 11 years to come back (to many trips to see mickey)!
With only 6 full days on the island the family debate is boat trip or no boat trip. Palm tree and Lion in Da sun both have a free day during our week. We also (son and I) also thinking about trying scuba day trip with 6-Paq Scuba instead of boat trip.
So the question is stay on island for the week, or also do a boat trip or scuba trip for one day.
thanks for input

I agree that you'll be fine either way. However, last year we did one trip where we had a scuba trip one day and a sunset sail. The second trip had scuba one day and a BVI entire boat day. So, we were away from STJ beaches for basically two days. That made the beach time WAY too short for me. I loved every minute of the trip, but I missed the beach time. The first trip where we did the scuba during the day and then the boat one evening was better. We were only away from the beach one day, but we still got our time on the water!

A half day private snorkel was a highlight of our trip! (We went with Sadie Sea; they were great.) We were all wishing we had reserved for a full day, but sadly bribery did not keep us out on the boat any longer. It was so fun to be out on the water on a gorgeous sunny day.
Can't speak to scuba since I'm not certified, but I think you'd have a blast and have some great family memories doing either one.

Our first trip to STJ we did a full day boat trip, and it was awesome! We hit all the "feature" places (baths, Indians, Soggy Dollar, Sandy Spit, etc.). Tons of great snorkeling, swimming, drinking, sightseeing, photo-taking and sun-tanning. Now that we've done all that, we don't feel like we HAVE to do it on this trip. I would recommend doing one or the other. On this trip we want to do a day of scuba (1st timers!). To do them both in one trip might be too much time away from the incredible STJ beaches.

I think one day on a boat trip is a "must do" for every visit to STJ...so amazing to get out on the water and see things from a different perspective. I also had a good experience with Lion in Da Sun and would recommend them.
Colette with 6-paq is great as well. And the Beginner Dive only lasts about 3hrs. But doing both with only a week on island could be a stretch. Which would your family enjoy more?

The best day on the islands is always a day on the water. The only thing better than a day on the water is a week on charter.
I would give you a recommendation for a charter but you have already talked to the guys that I would recommend anyway.
