T-22 Trip report part#1 Feb-1-9

First, we had a group of 3 couples which 2 couples were newbies to St. John. Our trip start out at, 5:00 am in the Atlantic City airport (Spirit air 1st time) for a 7;00 am flight to FLL and then to STT. Let's just say I'm back to going out of Philly on USAir. First, when we booked (group of 6) the flight was 7-9:35 FtL with a layover of 1 hr which Spirit changed to a 3hr layover which would not get us to STT until 4:05 pm instead of the 2:05 pm when purchased. We flew into Ftl and grabbed something to eat and wait for our connection which arrived late and turned our 3hr layover into 4 hours so we didn't arrive until 5:10pm. We grab our bags and took a taxi to the Green Iguana hotel for our first night which was a great idea especially after our flight delays. We checked in, what a great little hotel. I was in contact with Capt and Mrs Jay prior to our trip and we went to town and met Deb & Jay, Great people, at the Greenhouse and had a few drinks and dinner, Thanks Deb & Jay for the warm island welcome! We returned to the Green Iguana to get some sleep so we could start our first day on St. John fresh. We checked out and took a taxi to Red Hook (great new building)and took the 12:00pm ferry across and were met by Courtesy at the dock with our Vitara. I went upstairs to say "HI" to St. John Ruth and then met out Villa Rep. at the Starfish Market. We followed our Rep. to our Villa, Blue Heaven Rendezvous, there were great views from every room.
We unpacked, hit Starfish for some snacks and drove to Hawksnest, beautiful as always and not crowded when we arrived @ 2:30pm. Our friends couldn't believe how beautiful it was. After a few cocktails and beach time we head back to our villa for some deck and hottub time. We had a few more cocktail on the deck as the sun set and headed to town and had a great meal at Cafe Roma. After dinner we walked around town. We went back to the viila and went to sleep, Great 1st day.
