Thrifty Car rental??
hav'nt heard to much about this place. I know it is not at the airport (you call for a shuttle). I would like to know how difficult this is, I was planning per bills advice to call, get the car, and pick up hubby with the bags after?? I got a jeep for 368.00 including taxes which seems like a good deal after shopping around. I leave next Tuesday...YEAH

Personally, I would not recommend them. I have sent emails to their head office as to how they treat their customers. Just today at the airport an elderly couple waited nearly an hour for pick up. Once one of my guests was late getting in, so they rented her car that she reserved to someone else, and then ,made her take a more expensive car and pay the difference! Shortly after that, another guest I took to get their car after 5pm because they too had a delayed flight and although there were people still on premises, they were told they were closed and had to come back the next day. These two incidences I reported to the home office with no answer. I promised myself, whenever I see anyone ask about them, to let them know this so they won't have to suffer their ignorance.
Try Discount Car Rental or Best Car Rental. Much better service.

I believe Ron's answer, so I can only tell you from my experience in June 2006 that Thrifty was flawless for us. They're just off the airport property, and when we called they picked us up promptly. (I think they only had one person working that day, so if he had been helping someone else when I called, I suppose the delay could have been longer.) We were taken back to their location, given just the car we reserved which was in good condition, and away we went. Same story in reverse upon returning. Having said that, I'm renting from Dependable Car Rental on STT this time, because Thrifty was significantly more expensive for the size vehicle we needed. Hope this helps.
