St. Patrick's Day?

Post by RickG »

For some reason I assumed that the St. Patrick's Day parade in Cruz Bay was on March 17th? I checked the Quiet Mon web site and it says the Saturday before the 17th. Any hints on the timing for the parade?

Cheers, RickG

DO NOT BE LATE. You will miss it. It is a small parade. If You can get a seat at Woody's you are in good shape, if not across the street next to Subway is a good spot too.

They want to have the parade on the weekend and no parade permits can be issued for Sundays. So Saturday is the parade. Don't be late! It's very quick, like half an hour.

You have heard of the "8 tuff miles" on St John right (it's the annual run from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay) - well this is refered to as the "8 tuff minutes"

Cool, we get in that morning from STT. Does it start any particular time, or is this a pretty random event?

Hey Rick!

Ron & I are gearing up for our 7th Annual St.Patty's Day on island!!! If I'm not mistaken...this is the 10th Annual Parade! WooHoo!!! Just like Ex & Pia said...don't be late! We always snag a seat on the rail at Quiet Mon...best seats on the "route"! We usually claim our seats by 10am or so. Parade usually starts around Noon...give or take. If you haven't been before...you're in for a treat...hehehe. Don't blink! We'll keep an eye out for ya! Not long now!

As a side note...we are currently in our third pitcher of Bushwackers at our Pre-Island Warm Up Party! Got a few newbies this trip! Love it!

Hey Rick! We get in on Thursday, March 13 so we're planning to be there on that Saturday---bought our green beads today. Hope to see you there. But we are also planning to celebrate St. Paddy's Day at Quiet Mon on the "real day."

We were planning on hitting the car barge from STT at around 10AM on the 15th. We may want to move that earlier.

I'm not certain we'll be in Cruz Bay on the 17th. We are staying Coral Bay and we have plans to be in Cruz Bay the 15th, 16th (forum party at Beach Bar), 18th (John Brandi charter), and 20th. But then, St. Patrick is my patron saint!

We'll see the gang there and will be wearing the green! I was separating out our St. Patrick's beads last night from our Mardi Gras beads.

Awww, looks like we'll just miss the parade! We'll be coming in on the 12:30 ferry from Tortola - don't think there's any way we can get get there sooner. :(

Oh well, we'll be around for the St Patty's Day festivities later in the week anyway.
