Spirit On Time out of STT?
Spirit On Time out of STT?
What would you do? We booked the return leg of our upcoming May trip using Spirit from STT to FLL, and then Air Canada to Toronto. When we booked we had a 2 hours wait in Lauderdale before the Air Canada departure. Spirit changed the flight and now we only have 40 minutes.
We won't have any checked luggage, we will print our boarding passes on St John before leaving and the Spirit and Air Canada gates are in the same terminal in FLL. IF Spirit leaves STT on time, we should be able to run to our connecting gate. That's a big IF. Has anyone experienced delays with Spirit leaving STT? We have used different airlines on our previous six trips to St John and I don't recall ever having a delayed departure, but I'm not sure if we should take a gamble.
To complicate matters, our friends have booked their tickets on both airlines using MasterCard travel points and we don't know if they would be able to make any changes or cancellations of these arrangements. The Air Canada flight is the last one out of FLL for the day, so if we miss it we're stuck.
I'm going to ask our friends to find out what their options are with their tickets, but we might also have a hard time getting a refund from Spirit if we try a completely different route.
Thoughts?

Hi KP,
My experience with Spirit has them being on time, however I have also experienced then changing the flight times 1-2 times before travel.
It's a chance but with online boarding passes and being in the same terminal as Air Canada it should work...IF Spirit doesn't change the times on your flight again.
Good Luck! Maybe just check the flights for the next day just in case
