Techni Ice help asap

Post by IslandAddict »

My wife is packing a box for her clients to take with them to St. John on Sunday. She believes the airlines will limit the Techni Ice to 5 lbs as they do with dry ice. Does anyone know if this is the case? If so will 5lbs of Techni Ice work as good or better than dry ice?

Thanks for all the great advice everyone. See you on island soon!

No limits on Techni ice weight. The dry ice limit is due to the off-gassing of CO2. Techni ice is a water-based gel, so you can't do carry-on, but you can take as much as you want in checked luggage.

When asked whether their is ice or dry ice in your cooler the proper answer is "No." She should coach the person that is carrying the cooler.

I used techni-ice for the first time in November and its a great product. Its great for the beach beers as well.
