Superbowl muchies for 4?

Post by Xislandgirl »

There will just be 4 of us and I want to make some nice apps. I will be making Becky's roasted veggie sandwich (on a smaller scale) but I am not sure what else to make.

The other coupe are definate foodies. He is a former chef and can not have any seafood or sea salt and they both do not eat mushrooms.

Any great recipes for "foodie" munchies?

Very funny Jorge, but, if memory serves me right, you are a Packers fan and the only thing Favre is packing is his suitcase to go home!

wait a min. I'm not a Packers fan. Barbara is. I really don't give a rats a$$ who wins as long as there is a party at my house. I only cheer for Favre because it makes momma happy. And if momma is happy I am happy. Ya pickin up what i'm puttin down?
Can you tell Chip that? I am a die- hard life-long Giants fan. Chip doesn't like football but his boss is a Patriots fan so he has decided that he will be too.

X - I guess that's why you're focused on pleasing your guests and not making Chip's favorites

I'm pretty sure Don would be sleeping on the couch if he rooted against the Pat's.

Can't help with any foodie munchies - my friends will be happy with Bud and Peanuts. I'm going with the Buffalo Chicken Dip and a couple of stromboli's - that will blow them away.

Have you made the Barefoot Contessa recipe for lemon chicken skewers with peanut dipping sauce? They are simple, can be made in advance, and are really tasty.

Let me know if you want the recipe.

I need ideas for my super bowl party too. The only thing on the menu so far is that horrific buffalo chicken dip, at John's request.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I'm making cherry-smoked chicken wings, spicy pork and goat cheese nachos, and a huge Greek salad.

Sure - the more the merrier! :D

Basically I take some leftover pulled pork and simmer it with some spices, garlic, onion, tomato juice, etc., then pour 1/2 of that over a layer of nacho chips, crumble goat cheese over that, add a second layer, then top with shredded longhorn or colby, then bake it until the cheese melts. If I remember to I'll take a picture of it.

Or if you make it down, YOU can take the picture.

Any good Crock Pot recipes? I will be gone all day and when I get home the game will start. Not that I care much about it now that the Packers aren't in it. :(

I was thinking Italian Beef in the crock pot.

Nachos are always good too.
