Unusual, different, or exciting gifts

Post by augie »

Were there any gifts received by anyone in your household that deserve a mention on this forum?

We had one - this is what my 14 year old son asked for. I can't believe first, that we agreed to it, and second, that Leslie could find one, particularly in his size:

It has a matching vest as well.

The "cool" shades were another gift.

Can't wait for the next school dance...

Wow Augie!,
I don't think anyone can beat that!

My daughter got a Gremlin diecast car because she wants a real Gremlin. Why? - I do not know.

I got an awesome book called "Reef" by Scubazoo and it has amazing photos. That was for my Birthday though.

That is hysterical!
I got some lovely jewelery from Caravan Gallery. Something I admired when we were there.

That's a crazy suit! Your son is too funny. He'll be the star of the next dance for sure.

I got a coupon for a trip to St. John so I am very excited about that!
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

My 10 year old asked for a ventrilaquist doll named Billy and a leather Indiana Jones Whip . He got them both!

I LOVE that suit!

It's true! Everything comes back into style! He looks like he could have been at my prom in 1966! He's sure cute, and I love that suit!

That is great. I don't find it the slightest bit odd that our kids ask for more unique gifts. My daughter was 3 when she asked for a telescope. I didn't even know she knew what a telescope was! This year was a wooden train. Go figure.

Her favorites though were the slurpee machine from my nephew (that got laps around the house) and the planetarium that lights up on the ceiling. She's a geek in training, she can't help it with her dad.

Okay, I will tell you what I did this year: My son and daughter in law have just finished their new bathroom and have modernized the guest bathroom a little. They were very eager for that everything should look nice before Christmas, because a big part of the family should see the house for the first time on Christmas day. So they have bought new towels in just the right colour etc.. But I have noticed that they still used some very cheap toilet paper and decided to give my son a packet with 10 luxury toilet rolls as a Christmas present. He saw this big packet and couldn’t figure out what was in it. It was funny to see him unpack, first I think he was a little disappointed, but then he realized that it was a good idea. So the toilet paper on both bathrooms was changed, when the guest came the next day.

What a coincidence, Marcia got a leather whip, too.

The only time I'm used to hearing the word "whip" is when Bubba is about to "whip my (insert 3 letter word here)."
:o
Thank goodness Marcia uses it in a different context. And instead of peaking through the flora/fauna at your Villa next time, I'll just sit and listen.
