So good to be "going home" - Pretrip report

Post by byado18 »

Thought I would add to my excitement by doing a pretrip report (I probably should be packing instead, but there are piles around and most of the shopping is done which is a good thing since we are suppose to be slammed with a winter storm over night)....... We leave Peoria, Wed. afternoon, Delta to ATL....and then on Thursday take the Delta flight to STT..... wheels down, with any luck, at 2:50....... and then take the Westin ferry...

Week 1: Westin - we were suppose to be in our brand new beautiful time share, but they didn't get done...so will be at the resort in beach front rooms.... not what we planned, but it will be great! :-)
Newbie friends and one of our adult children will be with us -- plan to do beach time, massages, snorkeling and Ecotours...... and let our friends decide on what else......

Week 2 at Jazz Villa-- friends will head back to Peoria and other children will fly in from NYC and Portland, OR.....plans(this is our 4th family trip with oldest daugher's new husband - his first time to STJ)---- guided Reef Hike, all day Wayward Sailor, massages, and Ecotours again..... lots of glorious pool time ----- Jazz has the best pool with all day sun and amazing sunsets :D

Anyone else on island DEc. 13 - 29th???????

Also, how do you add pix to the emails??????

Wow, have a great time! Enjoy, relax

You have to upload your pictures to photobucket.com and then it's easy from there. You just copy and paste the [img] code from photobucket, onto this forum, then you can preview before you submit, so that you can see if it worked.

Pretty easy once you do it.

Just wanted to say howdy from a fellow central Illinoisan :) (though I unfortunately live up north in Chicagoland these days).

My sister flew out of Peoria on Sunday...I hope you have better luck than she did :( She did eventually get out of the airport, it just took awhile. She was going to New York with a connecting flight in Chicago and was delayed in both Peoria and Chicago. She said that the drive from Heyworth to Peoria was the scariest part (very icy).

I'm actually on business in Dallas right now and I'm worried about getting home tomorrow because of the weather (my flight to get here on Sunday was cancelled).

The folks in Oklahoma seem to have it the worst though:

Ahh, Jazz Villa! If you do a cannon ball into the deep end of the pool you can splash folks as they come out of the downstairs bedroom!

:D Thanks for all the good wishes...... the ice seems to have by-passed us and since we are flying Delta through Atlanta we are hopeful that all will be ok with traveling --- we split the trip into an overnight in ATL to avoid the 45 minute dash through the ATL airport to make the Delta morning flight.

I am finally packing and there might be enough room for a very small person :)........ be at the Peoria airport at 3 pm and the space is yours!

Everyone have wonderful holidays---and safe travels wherever you are heading.......

Have a great trip! I think your plans look great. I am especially excited to hear about the ecotours.

I am in Iowa and it looks just like those pictures. Others say it is beautiful--I just can't say it! It is so miserable!

I am looking forward to your trip reports! I (we) were so spoiled by the trip reports last week!! I just want more!
