ok, got polar cooler...what to put in it?

Post by Iluvstjohn »

hi folks...I took your advice and got the buy 1 get 1 free coolers from polarbear coolers....they are GREAT...or look great. LOL

my question...is what do you bring in it? We would like to put provisions for at least the first night/day......since we have a 3 year old and a 4 year old....

weird question...did any of you bring beer/wine down so you didn't have to get out the first night? OR is that a no no....?

looking forward to using my cooler! Thanks

Put anything in it that floats your boat. I would put a bunch of meat in it if it were me most bang for the buck. Lots of bacon have to have bacon and eggs everymorning to start the day out right. The beer and wine sounds good to me allthough beer isn't that bad on island as some other things. Wouldn't take more than a few minutes to grab some.

I agree--meat.

I went to Sam's Club and got a big bag of chicken and a big bag of shrimp. I also got bacon, ribeyes, hamburger patties, hot dogs, and pork chops.

We didn't eat out--just cooked at the villa. The only thing I missed was yukon gold potatoes. They are my favorite and we couldn't find any.

Also, go ahead and put the marinade in the bag and then freeze it. Throw it in the cooler right before you leave the house.

Have a great trip!

Get St. John's rum.

I don't know if you are checking it or carrying it on - we have a polar bear and I am assuming it is one of your carry on peices because it is soft sided - so remember, no liquids over 3oz allowed past security so no beer or wine allowed.

I should preface that we are staying at Cinnamon Bay with our 3 year old and 4 year old.........

so we don't have the luxury of a freezer/refrigerator. I was hoping to bring some stuff mainly for us for the first night/morning since we will be arriving in afternoon.....hmmmmmmmmmmm??
