Happy Thanksgiving

Post by FlaGeorge »

FlaSteph and I would like to wish you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving. It's been a tough year, but we have so much to be thankful for. God has blessed us in so many ways. We each share a love of St. John and that in itself is reason to be thankful - plus we share a wonderful forum family here.

If you're traveling to your love ones - please be careful.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL.
FlaGeorge

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Be safe if you're traveling. I leave you with a holiday joke.

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious, and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music, and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up, and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot, and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird, and put him in the freezer.

For a few minutes, the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said to John, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. Just as he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Smoked Turkey all night long

The Virginia Country Ham is simmering after a scrub and a long soak,

The big turkey for roasting is defrosted and ready for the oven early tomorrow morning,

Sweet Christine has the Cuzzins style sweet potato dressing prepped and the creamed onions ready,

It sure feels like the day before Thanksgiving!

Cheers to our forum friends, those visiting the islands this week, and our on-island friends.

Cheers, RickG

Yumm sounds great Rick G. For me, its the first time in 10 years I'm not hosting Turkey day. I think I'll sleep late, go to the gym, get all purtied up and head over to my cousin's for dinner. The only thing I had to do was let the wine shop put togther a case of wine to bring and swipe the AMEX.
I'm exhausted ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
