US AIRWAYS NON-STOP FLIGHT FROM CHARLOTTE LANDS IN
ST. CROIX ONE MONTH EARLY
Weekly Saturday flights began November 10, 2007
ST. CROIX, U.S.VIRGIN ISLANDS, November 16, 2007 The Department of Tourism is pleased to welcome a new US Airways weekly non-stop flight from Charlotte, N.C. to St. Croix on Saturdays.
Service on this non-stop route was originally scheduled to return to the island on December 15, but it commenced more than a month early on November 10, offering additional opportunities for travel to the destination. This new direct flight complements US Airways existing flights to St. Croix and allows travelers to connect from the airlines hubs in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
In support of the new service, the Department of Tourism is also working closely with US Airways to coordinate mainland media and travel agent events planned for early 2008.
Bringing back this direct Saturday flight on US Airways is testament to the growing demand for convenient and frequent service to Americas Caribbean, says Commissioner Nicholson-Doty. Eastern U.S. is a very important market for the destination, and we will continue to work to make traveling from there to the U.S. Virgin Islands easier than ever.
The ongoing weekly Saturday flight (US Airways #1415) departs Charlotte at 11:35 a.m., and arrives in St. Croix at 4:18 p.m. The return flight (US Airways #1414) departs St. Croix at 5:15 p.m., and arrives in Charlotte at 8:15 p.m.
