Post by traveler22 »

Who would you pick for a day trip to the BVI's?
1.Lion In Da Sun
2. Born to Rhumb
3.New Horizon II
Or any other recommendations but no sailboats please, to slow!
thanks for any help, Scott

Boat Charter

Palma Bella with John Brandi. We are going with him November 12 and RickG is going out with him this week. Rick promised to post a review of the trip and a video too, so if you can wait a week to 10 days to decide this may help you.

Here's Capt. John's website: http://www.palmtreecharters.com/

Also, he's on this clip from on-st.john.com. Scroll down to the video about the Indians.

He and his wife, Sue, are really nice and easy to work with. We used him in July and have booked another day in April. He has a fast, smooth boat and will take you where you want to go.

I hope Noel didn't interfere with RickG's plans, as I'm looking forward to hearing his report, too.

I would prefer to do the Scubadu. Its more $$$ but you have the catamaran to yourself and/or can share the trip with another couple. Well worth it IMHO.

Definitely Born to Rhumb. Captain Kevin is a great guy (he actually was a ferry boat captain for years!) with great stories. The boat is fast and comfortable and we always have a fantastic day with them. Can't wait to go again in April :D

I have heard Lion in da Sun is great - nothing but wonderful things about them.
Also Flyaway Charters out of Coral Bay (fabulous option if you are staying on that side of STJ) has an excellent reputation.

I second Flyaway Charters. Capt Truman is a great guy - you're sure to have a wonderful day. It's nice to go out of Coral Bay because you can end the day with a Skinny's burger.

nb
Also, near the beach in Jersey

We were VERY happen using Ocean Runner and getting a Captain. Our captain was GREAT and am drawing a blank on his name, but we told him what we wanted to do and he let us do it.

He never once made us feel rushed and was very knowledgeable about everything.

His name is in Cat's trip reports from this past June.
