Top 10 Things to Do on STJ?

Post by Ondine »

Hello All,
I'm a fairly seasoned island traveler, but this january 17-24 will be my first to STJ. Any suggestions on any must do and go places? I'm up for a little of everything the island has to offer...
Thanks in advance!

That's the best thing about STJ, there is nothing that you "Must Do":)

However, for a fairly comprehensive list of things to think about doing, search for the following thread (search for all terms):

Must Do's Synopsis/Condensed

Since this is your first time, I would . . .

1. Snorkel Trunk Bay early in the morning
2. Drive all over the island in your 4 wheel drive
3. Spend a day on Cinnamon Bay
4. Hike the Ram's Head trail and take boat back to dock
5. Woody's happy hour!
6. Hike to Honeymoon Beach at Caneel Bay Resort
7. Sunday Jazz at the Beach Bar
8. Shop at Mongoose Junction
9. Hike the trail to Waterlemon Cay & snorkel around the island
10. Chill at your villa 8)
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas, and discovering the ability to search topics. I came across one that could easily sum up:
My "must do next trip" list is a mile long. Then, I get there, get drunk, and forget all about it. Oh well.

A lot of good suggestions so far. I might add:

1. Snorkle at Waterlemon Cay(note that there is a fairly good hike to get out to the point where you would start your snorkling). We have seen the most amazing things there, and so have so many others.
2. Chicken and ribs at Uncle Joe's BBQ(across from the post office....follow your nose).
3. Dinners at the Lime Inn and Morgan's Mango, fairly reasonable.
Must see beaches....Hawksnest, Trunk, and Cinnamon Bays, as well as Francis.

This is the first year in 10 that we wont be going, so I'm very sad, and green with envy. Enjoy! Say hi to Ruth and Ron at St John Spice.
