For those that didn't see this under FlaGeorges post
I put this under FlaGeorge's post, but then realized I should have put it in a new post for all to read.
Here's wishing everyone a safe, Happy Holiday weekend, and may we all meet in STJ someday!!! (because it is heaven on earth, isn't it??)
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you all so much for your care and concern during the difficult months we went through. I am at work with tears in my eyes as I read all your kind thoughts.
George was my "Rock of Gibraltar"...being a caregiver is very hard, and they are so often forgotten with so much attention being given to the patient. His "Forum Family" never let him be forgotten.
You will never know how much you all meant to him during his darkest days.
Again, thanks so much! We love you all!

You are so right about the "caregiver". Everyone asks the patient how they are doing. When I ask a cancer patient's caregiver how they are doing, they often start crying. There are some, like you, that give credit, thanks, and gratitude.
I wish you continued health and I hope you get to SJ soon. Sincerely, Sharon

Steph-- glad that you are back on your feet again. It's always surprising to me, when you go through difficult cuircumstances, to find out who your friends really are. They are not always who you think they are. I'm just so glad that you've found your extended family and support group here. Cause we ain't going anywhere --except to STJ!!!
I can't tell you how releived Flip Flop and I are!
If anything, these kinds of things are a reminder not to take anything or anyone for granted!
Hugs!

*Another fine scatterbrained production
Thank you everyone for all the kind words and thoughts!
Gromit, I have to agree that you are absolutely right about finding out who your "friends" really are...as sad as it may seem, you are better off without them!
And who needs them anyway if you have the forum family!
Now it is time to get busy and plan that next trip to STJ!!
