Help! A terrible predicament.

Post by Steve S »

I found RT tickets to St. Thomas for $220 for next year and I want to jump on them. The problem is that I really haven't pulled together the numbers to see if I can swing the villa , car, etc. This would be a family trip for 5. What would you do? :? (BTW I don't have LLBL's issue of selling the trip  )

I say GET THE TICKETS!! Worry about the details later. You have plenty of time :D

When will you get a deal like this again? For a family of 5 it's a substantial saving!!

I found RT tickets for September from SLC to STT for $182 RT . I told Honey and he said "God, did you book them?" I didn't. Just couldn't pull a trip together that fast. His response..."damn woman, for that price I would of just pitched a tent for a week and been thrilled!"

Wow - I check air fares almost daily for months until I can jump. Right now we're looking at 700-800 rt from Los Angeles to STT for July 08. Usually the fares will drop to about 550-600 at some point but I sure envy you guys in the east. Hey....maybe if I can talk hubby into moving east, we could come to SJ TWICE a year....YIPPEE!

Life is short - snag those tickets! The details will work out somehow. That's how we came to be going in October, even though it was totally unplanned and nowhere in the "budget" . Now, we need to figure out where we can stay... Such problems, huh?

What time of the year is it? If it's peak seaon or a peak week it could be a factor in finding a place to stay...
In any case I'd say get the tickets but set everyone's expectations that there might not be a hot tub involved but you're going to St. John.

Get the tickets. Put the numbers together after you get them. Remember you have about a year to handle a part time job to make this work.

I bought them! Since it's Delta, I have 24 hrs to change my mind.

April 15th through April 22nd $189 each, $220 with taxes and fees.

Boston to St. Thomas (a 3+ hour drive is the only downside... Albany is still $600+).

Best news is that there are still seats available at this price on these days only, as of 9:30 edt. Grab 'em if you can!

Da trip

Post by Bill in Va »

HELLO......Now here this. All in favor of da trip for the "Steve-O" and fam please.......let your heart beat. OKAY that settles it my man. As my bride said to me in a very similar deal a couple of years. "Book it Dano". There is an old Scottish saying that was told to me in the small town of Friockheim by Arbroth in Angus county Scotland while I was stationed at RAF Edzell back in the early 70's. Mr Bill MacFearson told me "you are a long time dead". In other words go for it now. Please book and worry about the money later. You can make more money but not more time...God bless...Bill
