Jiffy Lube Trip report Part I
Quick trip, equally quick report!
Thursday was travel day. Up at 4:30am to the airport by 6:15. Flights on time. Rachel picked me up and we made it to the 6:00pm boat with just a few
minutes to spare.
My friend met me on the dock and we headed over to Redbeards/Larry's Landing for a welcome "home" cocktail and then up to the house. I am being
odd and cryptic, but I will say that the place that I stayed has seen better days. Can't really go into details, let's just say that I will not
mention the property or the manager, even if I am asked in a PM, but if someone talks about renting it, I will let them know.
STJ car rental did not have my reservation when my friend went to get the keys for me, so I had no car, but it was no big deal. I went back into town
and met an old friend for dinner at Stone Terrrace. No food porn, but it was very yummy. Nothing says welcome to vacation like Grand Marnier Pate,
Tuna tartare, scallops and wine. I was exhausted from the travel day so after dinner, I went back to the house and right to bed.
Friday- Up early, well, didn't really sleep, this would be the case for the entire trip. Coffee on the deck and then we headed into town for breakfast
at Tamarind. Huge portions and very good food. My friends dropped me off at STJCR to get my car, stopped in to Ruth and Ron and have some stuff
shipped home and then headed out to Hawksnest. Promptly got in the water and spent the next 3 hours just soaking. It was so hot that I could barely
survive just sitting on the beach, so it was an all day in the water beach day.
We packed up and headed back to the house for showers (or what I would get used to as a shower. Drip, pulse, drip, repeat) and drove out to Aqua Bistro to listen to Mark Wallace sing. I did get up and sing a song with him as I used to when I lived there. It almost seemed like 7 years have not gone by, just like old times.
This was a great night. We got to see a ton of old friends and their little ones that are not really little anymore and had just a fabulous
time.
We did eat, the food was very good but it took 2 hours to get it. But the rum was flowing and we were too busy chatting so we barely noticed.
This proved to be our latest night out and we finally rolled into bed around 11:30 (Phew- I am a rebel!)
