AS THE ISLAND TURNS - part 3
We woke up this morning with partly cloudy skies and windy conditions. Today was deep sea fishing day for the guys. But Double Header Sports Fishing wanted to postpone the trip till Sunday when the seas should be calm.
Well, no fishing or shopping today so we decided to jump in our suits and check out Honeymoon Beach at Caneel Bay Resort. Can you believe we have never been there on our previous trips? Since you forumites gave it such good reviews, it must be great!
I'm glad my hubby's dad decided to relax at the villa today since the walk to Honeymoon with kids, bags and chairs is not the easiest thing to do.

But well worth it!

After swimming and snorkling with these friendly guys:

we grabbed our gear on a mission to Woody's for lunch. Painkillers and Mahi sandwiches were calling us! I was worried there wouldn't be enough tables for our motley crew, but the two big middle tables were open when we got there! That's a miracle!
After a painkiller, lime-n-coconut and one of these: (hey! I was thirsty!)

I couldn't believe who was "hanging" out by the bar!

Hope my lunch comes soon or I'm going to ask him for his autograph!
After lunch we were still in the mood for the beach. We headed to Hawksnest but the parking lot was packed. How about Gibney? No parking!
MAHO? O.K.!

Everyone loved Maho! Like swimming in the worlds largest swimming pool! The kids had a rock skipping contest while the adults lounged around on floaties. Nobody wanted to leave!
But we needed to get back to the villa and check on Papa who was holding down the fort. He had a long conversation that day with the pool cleaning guy who said after 20 years, he was sick of STJ and was planning to leave the island for something different. Papa asked where he was going, thinking he was going to say Alaska or the North Pole, the pool guy wanted a big change by moving to Hawaii! (not too much of a change except driving on the other side of the road)
Since we had no fish from the postponed fishing trip, we had to stretch the spaghetti leftovers. Somehow it tasted better the second night! Especially with an un-ending supply of wine to go with it!
Our saga will continue same time tomorrow as the family contemplates which beach to visit next. The drama mounts when a strange creature is found hiding in their suitcase. . . don't miss every switchback twist and turn on the next episode of AS THE ISLAND TURNS.

"By the time we hit Miami, the cell phones will ring and life as we know it will draw us back in, so tonight we will just continue to soak in the sounds, the sights, the tastes and the feelings of St. John."

50 yrs old dang it............wow.....
and the reason I asked about Kenny was my friends saw him beginning of Aug at the shows in NC. I think they were the 2, and 3.
I guess I read your trip report wrong 'cause I thought those were the days you were there. I thought Kenny was on island and then flew up for his show.......WOW!!! That boy does have the island bug if he jaunts down in between shows with a day between.

Forum posting hint
Colleen, you might want to shrink your photos a litttle before posting them. The forum software sizes the width of your report to the photos and as a result your page becomes wider than some folks browser window which is frankly a pain in the a55 when reading.
Great report, I still have a year to aspire to your B-in-L's "square shoulders"... I better get started.

Steve~
I downloaded the pics from my camera into photobucket then cut & paste the link into the trip report.
How do I shrink my photos too?
This trip report business is hard work!
