hi.

Post by Patrish »

Just thought I would say "hello". I have been reading this forum for a while and must say that not only are you people St. John experts, but wow...can you cook!! I was hesitant to open that food porn thread. But, I have been inspired to kick it up a notch from just browsing at what you folks cook!!

My husband and I are looking to travel to St. John, but not until next year. We usually go somewhere each November. This year, with the budget being tight (two college kids will do that to ya), we are going to spend a week @Siesta Key, FL. But...next year, we want to make our first trip to St. John.

We've been to the Bahamas and to Aruba twice, but that is the extent of our Caribbean travel.

Hope to get to know everyone and maybe even join some of you for a get together @The Beach Bar next year. 8)

Nothing fancy!! We're a meat and potatoes kind of family. Saturday, I marinated some boneless chicken breasts. Husband Tom grilled them perfectly. For a side, I served roasted veggies (done in the oven). Zucchini, yellow squash, red pepper, onion, mushrooms & chopped fresh garlic. Drizzled w/evoo, sprinkled w/salt & pepper. Also made some cheesy garlic bread.

For dessert, we had s'mores.

Thanks so much Mary Beth!

I always plan trips pretty far out...really enjoy the anticipation. Plus, I like to gather information about different places, present the info to Tom and decide together what fun things we'll do, where we'll stay, etc. I already own the Feet & Fins book. :)

Welcome to the forum. I live very close to Siesta Key and its a nice beach. Mind ya – it’s no STJ but a great place in its own right. Hope you have a great time. We’re off to Sanibel Island soon. Another great area in Florida.
