OT: Back from a non-USVI trip...

I just got back from a 15 day trip that was preceeded by a crazy busy two weeks at work, so I'm way behind in keeping up with all of you good folks, but I'll try to catch up...

We had a family reunion in San Diego for four days, after which my wife, two sons, and myself drove to Seattle, stopping along the way to sightsee and visit with friends.

Now I can turn my full "getting ready" attention to the STJ trip in October.

One tangible good result from this trip - after navigating some of the roads in northern California, Oregon, and Washington I don't think I'll be nearly as intimidated by the roads on STJ (driving in Florida doesn't do much to prepare one for hills and switchbacks!)

So, a belated happy 4th of July to you all, and I'm glad to be able to once again vicariously enjoy all of your adventures!

Augie - if you took Hwy. 1 up the California Coast through Big Sur, then you are definitely ready for St. John! I drive mountain roads frequently so St. John wasn't a big deal for me, but I have sympathy for you flat-landers!
