Just Back!

Post by Tracy in WI »

Well, we made it home safely from another great trip to STJ. Weather was perfect, bugs weren't bad, snorkeling was fun and we met a few fellow forumites! Bob and Anita kept following us towards the end of the trip - but we appreciated them and their two very nice boys!

Don't forget to take the hot sauce purchased from St. John Spice out of your carry-on bag. Ours was found and disposed of at the St. Thomas airport, uuugghhh......!

And, just as we returned home, the kids passports arrived. What great government timing! They were pretty strict about it at the St. Thomas airport, but luckily we had printouts for both our boys confirming that the passports were ordered.

Lots of laundry and pictures to go through and time to get planning our Wisconsin gathering in a few short weeks! Any more takers?

Tracy, did you need to have your kids' birth certificates with the proof that you applied for the passports? We are less than 2 weeks out and are still waiting for passports. Did you go to the BVI's? Thanks, Debbie

It was super meeting you and your family and hope your travels home were as smooth as ours. It made our STJ vacation all the more fun.

BASUR -

We were asked by the ticket agent and the customs agent for their birth certificates. They were sent along with the passport applications so we didn't have them. We should have made copies - not thinking.

Anyway, we printed off the form from the passport site stating that our passports applications were received and pending. The customs agent did a search on his computer for something for each boy and then let us through.

We did not go to the BVI and probably would have if we we had better proof of their ID. I am not sure if they are needed or not, but we didn't want to take the chance. Someone else might have better information.
