I believe you may have misread the Tradewinds article. Yes, a young man was tragically stabbed this week. The other two homicides referenced in the article, though were not about tourists. The first refers to a robbery suspect that was allegedly gunned in January down while being pursued by the police. The second refers to a horrible murder in 2005 of a St. John resident. The murderer was a boyfriend of an employee of the victim and was tried and convicted for the crime.

While not making light of the senseless murder of this young man, I did want to clarify your assumption.

There has not been 2 murders of TOURISTS on STJ this winter.
There was a shooting and death of a St Thomas resident (not tourist) that were reportedly involved in a string of robberies on STJ earlier this year and then the horrible stabbing of the young man that had just moved here.
I arrived home to STJ that same evening and was giving a ride to a "first timer to STJ" who was staying at Tamarind Court when we witnessed the rescue attempt at the scene of the stabbing.
We all hope and pray that justic will be done.
