Turtle Bay and Scott Beach

Post by snorkelqueen »

Where exactly are Turtle Bay and Scott Beach? The pictures "liansaunt" posted from there were wonderful. I can't find either in my SJ Beach Guide! Are they reachable by foot or car and is the snorkeling good or was "liansaunt" just lucky? Two weeks and two days to go and I can almost taste those painkillers :D

They are two of seven beaches on the Caneel Resort property....mia
It takes both the sun and the rain to make a beautiful rainbow. --Unknown

Thanks for the compliments on my photos! :D

As Mia said, they are both on the Caneel property. Officially, Turtle and Scott are private beaches only for the use of resort guests, but others on the forum have said they've used these beaches with no problems while not staying at Caneel. I have also read that you can ask at the front desk for a day pass, I don't know if that's true or not. You can also approach by water, though Caneel won't let you beach your dinghy. You can pull up to their dock though!

Both beaches are pretty far back on the property. There is a shuttle bus that goes around the resort and stops at the various beaches if you don't feel like walking.

I have seen turtles just about every time I've snorkeled at Scott. It's really great. :D
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
