Ssshhh - Just booked a surprise....

Post by LandLockedBeachLover »

I'm such a nut! We're scheduled to leave next Wednesday the 27th (YEAH :D ) for a week on STT at the Marriott (free with my points!). We were originally slated to leave on 7/4 for home. I actually don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I just checked with AA to see if we could extend for another day so we can stay for the 4th of July night (I assume there are fireworks in CA?). Luckily I can use the FF miles and only a $30 change fee for my purchased ticket!! I did it! I don't think I will tell the rest of the family and leave it a surprise! The only place I could find a room close to the airport for 1 night is Best Western Carib Beach, but flight is at 7 am anyway. Short night!

SO EXCITED I CAN'T SLEEP!

That will be a great surprise! I just found out I have to WORK the day after we get home. How wrong is that? :(

Landlocked - That's so awesome! I don't know how you could possibly leave on the 4th, anyway, and miss all the fireworks & fun by only a few hours! I'd have done the exact same thing! Everyone will be so excited! :D

I agree -- what a dumba$$ to even schedule it originally so we were flying back on the 4th!

Does Charlotte Amalie have fireworks?

Smart move! I am sure they do the fireworks thing. Anything to add another day to your vacation, right :)

We are traveling home the day after thanksgiving and I am so glad because that way I'll have Sat & Sun to recover/sink into my depression before heading back to work!

Can't say if there are freworks in CA but the "big" fireworks display is over Cruz Bay on STJ as it is the end of Carnival :)

Wooohoooo! Another day in Paradise.

I don't believe there are any CA fireworks. Everything is focused on STJ's Carnival finale. You don't have to go to STJ to see them, though. I recall hearing that people went to Sapphire beach to watch.

I'm thinking there might be a view from Latitude 18 and from Sopchoppy's.

See you next week!! OMG - NEXT WEEK!
