Need advice on photo hosting website

Post by Diane »

What photo hosting website do you guys like the best? I'm not very computer savvy, so it needs to be fairly easy (and free would be nice). I would like to write a trip report and insert some photos.
The sites I'm aware of are: webshots, shutterfly, snapfish and zenfolio. Any others that you techies would recommend?
TIA,
Diane

photobucket is free and easy, imho.

flickr.com is really easy and free up to a certain limit (sorry I can't remember exactly what the limit is but it is generous). Even their paid membership is reasonable - $20 something a year.

They have a very easy tool you can download to upload your pictures in bunches or you can do it one by one.

I'm a big fan of Shutterfly. I'm not a "techie" either, and found their site to be very user friendly. I've ordered prints from the site, and was very happy with the quality and price.

If it's just for posting pics in a report, then I suggest tinypic.com. SUPER easy, and done on a per-pic basis, rather than the need to create an album.

Check out the BVI photos here on Zenfolio, they're incredible! I hear nothing but good things about Zenfolio.

I like flickr.com. It is very easy to use.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I just took a space at Photblog.com. within the last 2 weeks there was an article in NY Times by David Pogue about phothosting websites...check it out..I think it will be a great help to you.
I chose Photblog.com because I want to create an online history/current activity site for people interested in what is happening in my art studio. It was easy to sign up and easy to upload. My address sloopjones.photblog.com

Below is the David Pogue link. The article title "Photosharing even the folKs can handle" June 5 was publication date.
