Has anyone been on the Cataraman Soma before?
I contacted Cpt Clark of White Wing and he isn't able to take us on a day sail to Sandy Spit. He mentioned a cataraman named Soma and said it was the only other "sail" option he knew of that included a stop at Sandy Spit. Has anyone else used them? Thanks!

I don't think that looks like a relaxing day sail at all. I love to sail and I would love to do that, but that would not be a mellow chill out kind of day.
I would email Connectiond and ask who will be still sailing

Depends what you want from your sail. SOMA is a racing catamaran. The seating area is the mesh between the hulls. You will usually get wet.
It's exhilarating and you will never be closer to the water than on that boat.
SOMA won every race it entered in the Heineken Regatta in St. Marteen this year.
I'm in no way affiliated with SOMA but I've been on the boat a dozen times and loved it.
You want a nice, quiet, and dry sail at 5 knots, take some other boat.

Soma is a riot! Nils (the owner and captain of Soma)is a great guy and will show you a good time. We sailed on Soma February of 2006. Sailed to Jost and spent the day there-great time. It CAN be relaxing too! It is a fast boat, and Nils has done well racing it. We caught up with him this year after he returned from the Heineken Regatta. We wanted to charter it again, but he was gone for most of our time on island. If you go, try standing on your head or a handstand on the tramp (after a few painkillers of course,) now THAT is fun!! Another alternative would be Sail Safaris with Capt Han. We did that this year and had an awesome time! He has Hobie Cats. If fact between Nils and Han, they inspired us to learn to sail and we bought a Hobie Getaway this year....... Whatever you decide to do, ENJOY!!
