Important villa search April 15th 2015

Post by jerseygirl062 »

Would love advice - we are seeking a three bedroom villa for our family next spring. I say important because our daughter is getting married on St. John and we hope to find a stress free villa for our stay. The bride to be already has a 5 bedroom reserved for the bridal party couples.

Most important to us is the view ( prefer not to see many other homes - green is best ) and the outside living space. We usually seek seclusion but this trip may host for cocktails and/or small barbeque with family. We had our eye on Pebble Cove but sadly it is booked. We'd like to keep housing budget to about $3500.

We prefer Coral Bay, Ajax , Bordeaux or East End but since the bridal party is in Chocolate Hole we are open to other areas. We don't need granite countertops and mahogany cabinets - just clean, well maintained, comfortable and dependable.

To give you an idea of homes we've loved in the past:

Sea Spirit

Stony Bay Beach House

Reef Bay View

We plan to devote this weekend to the search and would really appreciate any thoughts. Thank you.

We are staying at Bay Rum Breeze next week for the 2nd time.
Love it, pool, hot tub, 3 bedrooms, flat easy parking for at least 3 cars. Large inside space and really nice outside space for eating, cocktails etc.
Amazing view!
Also have stayed at Villa Carolina that also has three bedrooms, smaller pool, no hot tub (not important to me). View is also fantastic with nice outside space.

Hope this helps you.

Do you have a preference to which side of the island? I babysat at Oceana the past few days and it has amazing sunset views! Lovely villa !

We are not partial to any spot on island - We usually like Coral Bay but since other groups for the wedding will near Cruz we're open to the South Shore as well.
Ocean is gorgeous but out of our budget range sadly.
Thanks for all the advice so far. Some are already booked - Bay Rum Breeze a real contender.

I suggested Bay Rum Breeze over on TA. The house is a winner. We were very impressed with the quality and condition of the house and furnishings. The outdoor living space is great with lots of room to spread out. Super clean as well. The grill is built in off to the side of the covered patio so if you do have a BBQ, the cook will be right with the party.

The view is fantastic. It feels like you are top of the world. The son of one of our friends that stayed there with us had his dad's pictures of the sunrises blown up onto large canvases to decorate his dad's office as a present.

Go to VRBO and look at Red Hawk Cottage on Boatman Point. The owner is Dale Miller and he is absolutely super to work with. You can't beat the price or views !! We stayed in his other home , Acqua Blu , in 2012 . Good luck !

Our home, Ilios, might meet your specs: 3 bedrooms, Chocolate Hole area, very well maintained and comfortable, under $3500 for 6 since it will be low season, and green (we have solar panels). Our rental agent is Caribbean Villas and Ilios is managed by Cimmaron which provides excellent service. http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/property/ilios/

Thanks to all of you who took the time to respond. I think we've settled on a house. So many villas-so little time ! Great thoughts for future trips.
