Scooter Rentals?

Post by silands »

I've been going to St John for six years now, not as experience as some of you but we are getting there, my friend wants to rent Scooter this year and go around the island I told him I don't think St John has them? Has anyone ever rented one for St John? How do you get up those hills with a scooter? Seriously the 4 wheel drive Jeep has a tough time...just saying

You could maybe scooter around Cruz Bay (although what would be the point?), but I can't imagine a scooter getting up the switchbacks on either Centerline or North Shore.

With 30 plus trips under my belt, I would never do it. If the tourists don't get you, the taxi's will.

Saw a car sliding Backwards down a section of the north shore road after a brief rain a while back. Unless your friend has a deathwish ..Noooo! Now I'm sure some of you wwill disagree with this also..They did rent them years ago I remember seeing a couple on one all the way out at Vie's. 2 rather large people on One scooter. They said they had to take turns walking up some of the hills. I'm sure your friend will have plenty of exciitement with 4 wheeels!!

I had a local tell me he has often seen them abandoned after the first switchback on the North Shore Rd. I can understand why.

We just got back and I didn't see a single scooter "scooting" around this trip. I wonder if the rentals are declining.

There is a scooter rental place in Cruz Bay, I think I saw it near Delbert Hill Jeep rental which is across from the Lime Inn.
I will join the majority and will not recommend it for safety reasons because of StJ roads and weather.

My stomach still turns thinking about the guy we picked up on the North Shore. If you have a problem, you really have a problem.

Does your friend wish to die on a beautiful tropical island?
