New Restaurants since 2/2013

Post by ledmiston »

We arrive on Tuesday for our annual trip-4 couples. What new restaurants have opened since we were there last year and where would you suggest we go? What old standbys should we return to? Know that Zozo's has moved to Caneel and we already made a reservation there. Thanks for your advice.

My two new favorites are Virgin Fire in Cruz Bay and Oasis in Coral Bay. Both are very good.

The Terrace opened in fall of 2012 and is very good (went there in Dec. 2012 and 2013). Also may want to consider Ocean 362 which recently opened at Gallows Point. Went the night of the prom last month and would definitely go back.

Virgin Fire in in Mongoose where La Plancha used to be. It's owned by Michael and Barbie Barry, who also own Sun Dog Cafe.

I second the Terrace. Our meal there was wonderful a couple of weeks ago. We tried Cruz Bay Landing and it was an off night for them (NYE) and they were just serving their lunch menu. It was just okay. I'm sure they have it together now, we just caught them at the wrong time; they are located where JJ's used to be. The remodel is fantastic.

Thank you all for your suggestions. We ate at the Terrace last year so will be sure to return this visit. Virgin Fire sounds like it's worth a try. Does any know how difficult it will be to go out to eat during the Love City Live weekend which is coming up? We were thinking that we should plan to eat at the villa the whole weekend.
