I prefer to apply a different product over my entire body: http://www.saranbrands.com/. It's non-toxic and effective.

Hey MB,
Wouldn't sublingual vitamin B work the same? It is absorbed under the tongue right into the bloodstream.

Website said it is better than ingesting vit B because Vit B gets broken down in stomach before being sweated out through pores. The patch they sell and sublingual vit B go into the bloodstream directly. I only know this about Vit B because I thought I was anemic and looking at the treatment methods. Hey, you can also get Vit B shot

Interesting - vitamin B1 is utilized by the liver in processing alcohol. These patches might help with those hangovers. All malt lightly filtered craft-brewed beers are also a good source of vitamin B1.

I think most sublinguial vitamin B supplements are B12. B12 does not make it past the stomach before being broken down. Alcohol is a strong B12 antagonist and B12 deficiencies can worsen hangovers.

I was getting ready to buy Vit B1 before our trip at Wal-Mart. My pharmacist saw me and I asked him about the repellant properties of Vit B1. First he said the Vit B1 would make me stink like sulphur and in order for it to work as a repellant, I'd have to ingest way more than what was in that bottle---and then be even stinkier.

Rick- I checked my bottle. It is all the B's except B1. But... they do sell just sublingual B1.

MaryBeth- Rick is a fermentation specialist  I used to work in fermentation and cell culture dept and that was the big thing the guys were into-brewing beer, how the lab equipment makes such great brewing equipment, etc.

Kellyanna- I think I will try the B1 anyway and see if I do indeed stink 8) Will let you know.

Nevermind....

Yah, you got me. I'm a yeasty boy - one of the best sources of Vitamin B. I used to take brewer's yeast tablets as a vitamin supplement. Then I found out that the efficacious amount of brewer's yeast as a vitamin B supplement has enough uric acid to cause certain problems - at 27 I go gout in my big toe. I switched to a more standard multi-vitamin (still smells of brewers yeast) and the gout never came back.

A vitamin does help a nasty hangover. It doesn't take much for me to get hungover. That's my natural drinking curb. I know that I will feel 3 drinks in the morning.

Balance in all things, including vitamins and sobriety.

Thought I'd revive this old thread and see if anyone order/used it? Is this similiar to the patches Ruth sells at St. John Spice?

Um, doesn't it make you just a little sweaty and do you use a chipotle "rub" before applying?

With all this talk of the powers of Vitamin B in insect repellancy (among other things), I think someone should email Mythbusters, sounds like a good episode!

Bryon is a bug magnet, and always gets eaten alive! I'm just wanting to do anything reasonably safe to keep him itch free!
