garbage on STJ
garbage on STJ
Just keep all the garbage on STJ and save all the money -
from the Waste Management Authority:
"All of the compactable items will be consolidated at the Susannaberg Transfer Station and the compactors will be shipped to the Bovoni landfill on St. Thomas when they are filled. The noncompactable items will also be placed into bins for transporting to the Bovoni landfill.
The procedures that will be put in place with the construction of the tipping floor will assist VIWMA in reducing the overall cost for collection and disposal of St. John’s solid waste. The authority expects to save more than $21,667 per month of the more than $94,000 a month that it currently spends transferring St. John’s garbage."

Re: garbage on STJ
St. John doesn't have a landfill. All St. John waste except recycled aluminum cans goes to the Bovoni landfill on St. Thomas. The Waste Management Authority has used an appropriated St. John Capital Improvement fund to haul waste to Bovoni.
