WESTIN OUT/GALLOWS POINT IN

We had reserved a week at the Westin from 12/1/13 to 12/8/13. Yesterday I received an email saying that the pool would be closed during our stay for renovation. Say WHAT? Not acceptable. I was a bit disgruntled since it might be hard to find accommodation to our liking on short notice, but luckily Gallows Point has availability and we will now be staying there. While I love the Westin, it's the pool that makes it so special for us, the beach is not great and so I'm excited to be in town and walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. Much larger accomodations, too.
The Westin had offered a 2 night free stay in 2014 or 2015 for our trouble, but wouldn't apply it to this years stay. Not acceptable!

Gallows is a great property. We love it. We will be there soon, for a week!

Related to Westin, a friend of mine is an owner and is due to be there the week of 10/12. She was also emailed about the pool, etc. As part of renovation the Westin ferry dock will be closed so the Westin ferry will be going to the Cruz Bay dock. That should be fun!

You will love Gallows Point. We stayed at the Westin back in Nov. 2009, but have been staying at Gallows Point every year since then. Will be there again Dec. 7-15th. I'm sure you already know this, but just in case...... they are offering a 20% discount for bookings between Dec. 1-20th if you book by Sept. 30th.
