Ferry ride

When traveling from St. Thomas to St. John to get to your villa how is your luggage secured , do you keep it with you at all times or is there a place on the ferry to stow it. Thanks

Bags "that fit on your lap", like backpacks, can be carried on with no fee.
When you buy your ticket you pay $2.50 per item of luggage and are given a tag for it. A ferry employee will take your bag as you board; all bags are stowed together. As you disembark the ferry, the bags will be set off on the dock for you to pick up.
