On island Friday 6/14

Post by sherban »

Looks overcast again today, kids still in bed ...time to rouse the gang and make a plan for the day...I'm thinking Salomon/Honeymoon and maybe Gibney too.

Never made it to Starfish market so need to do that too...

That looks like a perfect villa gravity day to me! Have fun whatever you decide to do.

Where's the sun!!!!

I know the locals probably like it because it keeps the temps down, but this haze is harshing my mellow.

Liamsaunt, thanks BTW for the info on the Leinster drift...I did it while my friend did her long run (marathon training) back and forth between Francis and Leinster at 6am. A little weird snorkeling at that time, but the fish, barracudas, turtles and rays were out in full force for breakfast.

Blue sky soon come please.

Thanks! Yeah, it is I agree. But the kids have twice the energy I do so we're heading out somewhere...daughter wants to try the tire swing at Gibney and we need to go into town for groceries.... :?:

I agree with 54b, sun would be great, but hey ...being on STJ is a privilege we will enjoy!

Looks like a beautiful flamboyant tree to me , but I can't even tell the difference between mango and papaya when they are in a tree so I could be wrong!

EagleRayLover you are 100% right! Flamboyant tree it is. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delonix_regia You can understand why this is also called a 'Flame Tree'.

Hi there...if you've done Waterlemon Cay, you know you walk the mile or so out to the point where you get in the water to go out the cay. On the trail you're walking on along the shore, about a half mile from the trailhead back at Annaberg, there is a rather extensive reef right below the water right off the shore and you can walk past it, enter the water from the rocky beach and because the waves are usually headed the other direction, drift over it.

After that, threw a U-Turn to the right and headed out into deeper water towards the small wooden dock in the middle of the bay...lots of sea grass, prime territory for turtles and rays.
