Flight delays , anyone?
Hi,
Hoping my upcoming flights aren't affected , so I thought I'd see if anyone has had that issue --we all wanna get on island ASAP , and THEN go on island time--not while at the airport!!

Re: Flight delays , anyone?
We were delayed a day coming home in January and it was no fun. I never even thought to check for possible delays throughout the day. If I had, we could have Voided the major headache that ensued. I've since downloaded several flight tracker apps to my iPhone.
I am hoping that all of this talk about potential delays is just hype.

Re: Flight delays , anyone?
I am VERY curious to hear how flights have been moving for anyone traveling right now. We don't leave for about 7 weeks. I told my husband last night I hope they get it together by then. We have a VERY early flight on our way there, so I'm not worried about that day. Coming home may be another story.

Re: Flight delays , anyone?
I am getting on my fourth flight this week. So far, knock on a coconut, I have not seen any delays.
Look forward to seeing you on STJ in about three weeks.

We are on day two of travel coming home from St John, left yesterday on the 11:15 am ferry to Charolette Amalie. Made it from St Thomas to, San Juan, loaded and made it to taxi on the runway, just as the jet was picking up a good speed, the brakes were applied hard and fast, causing smoke, and jet fuel fumes to come inside the plane, most remained calm, although we were one row in front of the emergency doors, and there was talk of opening them. The captain came on and indicate that the left engine had stalled. Out came the firetrucks, and foam us they did. After what seemed like forever, we were towed back to the gate, at which point we deplaned. Two hours later, the flight was canceled, we were given vouchers for a room at the hotel airport, dinner, and breakfast. We were lucky, and got on a flight this morning at 10:13 am, hopefull y we will be back in ROC by dinner time, with enough time to spare to pick up Sir Barks Alot at the kennel. Whew, long days! But all is well that ends well.

Just left STT yesterday and all flights on US Air left and arrived up to 15 minutes early. Now the line through security on STT started on the sidewalk and required a lot of patience.

Now that our valient and brave members of congress have agreed to fund the controlers, there shouldn't be a problem.
I am sure that it had nothing to do with the fact that they are going home for their spring break
Regardless of their motivation, we all benefit from it.

Just read this to the husband and he commented that it must have screwed up flights out of STT for the rest of the day. So glad you're ok.
